Lay the Dream on the Altar
Are you feeling frustrated because a dream isn’t unfolding according to your timetable? It’s natural to be passionate about your goals and desires—after all, ambition can be a beautiful thing. But sometimes, even a good dream can quietly become an idol.
When your happiness hinges entirely on that one dream coming to pass—on your terms and in your time—it can throw your life out of balance. You may not even realize it, but the dream can start to take center stage, crowding out peace, joy, and trust in God’s timing.
There are moments in life when we need to do something difficult but freeing: lay the dream on the altar.
We often hold on tightly to what we hope for, fearing that letting go means giving up. But in God’s kingdom, surrender is not defeat—it’s the beginning of divine movement. It's when we release our grip that God can step in and begin to unfold His plan in ways we couldn’t have imagined.
Instead of dwelling in frustration, what if you chose to turn that energy into gratitude? Thank God that He’s ordering your steps, even when you can’t see the full picture. That kind of faith invites His favor, peace, and provision. It opens the door for Him to fulfill not just your desires—but His perfect will for your life.
Remember this: God already knows what you want. He sees your heart, and He placed those desires within you. But He also sees the bigger picture and knows the best way to bring it all together.
So rather than striving, pushing, or worrying, try something more powerful: be content where you are. Trust that God is working behind the scenes. Stay open, stay grateful, and believe that His plans for your life are good—and they will come to pass in His perfect time.
Amen. Thanks for this. It really blessed me. Rather than doing it my own way, I would allow God lead the way.
