The Fraying Fabric of Society: A Call to Restore Christian Values

In recent years, our world has witnessed a disturbing trend: the unraveling of civility and the resurgence of barbarism. As the principles of practical Christianity have waned, our society has become increasingly marked by rudeness, violence, and discord.

Neighbors are pitted against neighbors, schools are plagued by fighting, and gang wars among teenagers have become a scourge on our cities. The breakdown of homes and the erosion of family values are also evident, as parents are at odds with each other and government officials engage in undignified name-calling and heated disputes.

At the heart of this crisis lies a profound forgetfulness: we have forgotten the wisdom of Jesus' words, "Happy are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth" (Matthew 5:5). We have forgotten the transformative power of humility, gentleness, and self-control.

To restore the fraying fabric of our society, we must revisit the principles of practical Christianity. We must rediscover the value of meekness, compassion, and kindness. By embracing these values, we can begin to rebuild our society, foster a culture of respect and empathy, and create a more harmonious and peaceful world.

Will we answer the call to restore Christian values and reclaim our society's lost civility? The future of our world depends on it.
