The Beauty in Every Face
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we truly lived as though no one were better than another—no prejudice, no discrimination, all equal and embraced in love? Sadly, we often live in an “us” and “them” world. If you look like me, speak like me, and think like me, then you’re one of “us.” If not, you’re labeled as “them.”
But pause for a moment and imagine a world made up of only one shade of green. Green trees, green grass, green flowers—no vibrant reds, bright yellows, soft blues, or deep purples. No golden leaves in the fall. Just green. Beautiful, yes, but also dull. Lifeless.
Now imagine a world with only one sound. No range of notes, no melodies, no harmonies—just one single tone. How could music exist? How would it stir our hearts?
We marvel at the diversity in nature, in music, in creation—and rightly so. Yet, when it comes to humanity, we struggle to celebrate that same glorious variety. We forget that God’s masterpiece includes every skin tone, every culture, every language. His image is not limited to one face—it’s reflected in all faces.
To truly see the face of God, we must look not only in the mirror but also into the faces of others—especially those different from us—and say with wonder: “Thank you for showing me the face of the living God.”
We are not a one-note world. And we were never meant to be.
