More Than Just Reading: Living the Word
Many of the struggles we face as Christians can often be traced to a lack of deep engagement with God’s Word. Too often, we skim through a chapter quickly—just to quiet our conscience—rather than truly feeding our souls.
But Scripture was never meant to be rushed. The psalmist reminds us, “I have hidden Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11). A single verse, carefully read, meditated upon, and applied, is far more valuable than a whole chapter skimmed and forgotten.
Don’t be discouraged if you don’t understand everything at once. Keep reading, keep meditating, keep seeking. The Holy Spirit is faithful to open the Scriptures and bring light to your understanding. Over time, the Word not only informs your mind—it transforms your heart.
Reading the Bible is good. Living the Bible is better. When God’s Word takes root in your life, it brings purity, strength, and guidance. Let the Scriptures shape your choices, your character, and your daily walk with Christ.
Don’t settle for merely reading. Hide it in your heart. Live it out. Let the Word become life in you.
